KOST AND OTHER CC Cuts

Just read online Mike Sakellarides who has been at KOST since they went on air 25 years ago was let go. Sean Andre on HOT 92 JAMZ was let go. Mike Nolan, KFI in the sky, and KOST traffic reporter was let go. That means no airborne traffic anymore on KFI or KOST. Dang. I really liked him and I like the airborne traffic. It just adds the cool factor. Little known fact... ok... maybe not so little, but I wanted to be an airborne traffic reporter when I was little.

I also read that they got rid of 2 other airborne traffic reporters Mike Baez (Taylor), Barbara Brooks (who flies with Mike Nolan), Jim Curran, Walt Darocha (Jackson), Alan LaGreen, and Sharon Reardon. That is insane!!! KOST certainly won't be the same.

I am sure this paves the way for more irritating traffic reporters like Viviana Vigil, Heather Sinclair, Suzie Jessup, Nora Wells, Diana Olaya and a whole bunch of others. Viviana Vigil really has the worst voice I've heard and you can definitely tell English is her second language.

I went to school with Viviana, and she could hardly speak spanish then. English is her first language, and her excellent spanish has been aquired through education and hard work.

He father is a professor who has taught at UC Irvine and USC. And her heritage the Califorio land dons that lived in southern california before it become a republic then a state.

She is also a lovely person, and her past work as a social worker shows that she is not some bimbo model/actess.

For years, KFI had a super-solid trio of traffic reporters: Mike Nolan in "KFI-in-the-sky" during morning and afternoon drivetimes, Mark Dennis middays and Alan Lagreen on the evening shift on the Phil Hendrie program. Sabina Morra later replaced Mark after his death. Now Sabina is only on for a short 3-hour shift, with Rosie Riddell and Rebecca Campbell alternating in the late morning. Rosie is OK, but sounds bored (she used to be the morning newsperson on KOST, but got demoted in the cutbacks) and Campbell is nothing short of TERRIBLE. Her voice is raspy and she talks so fast, when her reports are over, I hardly realize there was a traffic report. Lagreen's replacement, Angel Martinez is only marginally better than Rebecca and sounds about as bored as Rosie. The evening program "Kennedy and Suits" isn't nearly as interesting as John Ziegler, and no one can fill Phil Hendrie's shoes!

disagree...listened to Zig for a while, but he got REALLY repetitive. At least kennedy & suits have a lot of different topics (I don't always agree with them) and she seems well prepared. He is funnier with another person!
